Dolbadarn Castle

Dolbadarn Castle | Llanberis

Probably built by Llywelyn ab Iorwerth (Llywelyn the Great) early in the thirteenth century, Dolbadarn Castle is dominated by a massive round-towered keep. Although the castle is largely ruined the keep still stands up to 50 feet. The castle guards the base of Nant Peris which is a key mountain pass, and lies on the edge of the lake of Llyn Peris at the foot of Snowdon.

This attraction can be easily visited whilst staying in the Conwy Valley, and is 13 miles (21 km) from Betws-y-Coed as the crow flies (straight line distance). See the routeplanner below for a suggested route and estimated journey time.
