Llanberis Lake Railway
This narrow gauge steam railway starts in the village of Llanberis and runs past the 13th century Dolbadarn Castle and then along the shores of the lake of Llyn Padarn, from where there are good views of Snowdon.
The five mile return trip takes around 60 minutes, and all advertised trains are scheduled to be hauled by one of the vintage steam engines rescued from the nearby Dinorwic slate quarries.
This attraction can be easily visited whilst staying in the Conwy Valley, and is 13 miles (22 km) from Betws-y-Coed as the crow flies (straight line distance). See the routeplanner below for a suggested route and estimated journey time.
