Ffestiniog Railway | Porthmadog

The Ffestiniog Railway is the oldest independent railway company in the world, originally constructed to transport the slate quarried around Blaenau Ffestiniog down to the harbour at Porthmadog.

Now you can travel by steam through the spectacular scenery of the Snowdonia National Park, between Porthmadog and Blaenau Ffestiniog.

This attraction can be easily visited whilst staying in the Conwy Valley, and is 18 miles (29 km) from Betws-y-Coed as the crow flies (straight line distance). See the routeplanner below for a suggested route and estimated journey time.
